It's not as easy as telling these people that their trash that's filling their home, may also be killing them at the same time. They do need to educated as well as we all do about what can happen as a result of having this hoarding compulsion.
These individuals will almost always require some psychological help to get to the root of their hoarding issues. It's not just garbage, furniture, appliances, wood, construction debris that they hoard like we see on the TV shows. It can often times be animals such as cats.
